Drip SMS marketing campaigns / SMS automations allow you to slowly roll out various messages for specific types of groups or customers based on specific actions they have taken on your website or purchases they have made in the past.

By customizing drip SMS in a campaign, it is much easier to relay the right message and calls to action to individual groups of users regularly.

example: A follow up after an estimate was sent and not accepted, or a "Thank you" SMS or service reminders after an invoice has been paid.

Login to your Markate account.

Go to Marketing > SMS Automations > Add SMS Automation

Next you will choose an Event that will trigger the message to go out e.g. Estimate Follow-up.

You will need to name the automation, and choose the customer type to receive them. Residential, Commercial or Both.

If you have created customer groups, you can select if you have any that you would like to specifically include or exclude.

Save when you are done, and press Continue

Next you will build your SMS message. You can use placeholders to insert specific customer information, but every letter, number and space counts as a "character." You can have a total of 160 characters to go out in one message. You can check below the message to see what the character count is. Press Continue when you are finished.

***Note***

If the total is over 160 characters it will be automatically split into two messages and you will be charged for two SMS messages per customer. The maximum amount of characters is 320 characters into two messages.

e.g. If your message is split into two messages, instead of .5 cents a message, it will be .10 cents to include the entire message.

On this screen you will preview your message. On the right side, you will see how much you will be charged per message. You can always press "Back" to return to the previous screen. Press continue when you are ready.

After it is activated, anything moving forward that meets the event trigger will be included. Anything previously done will not be included, as it does not pull anything retroactively.

Here is a video showing you how to do this.
