How to Create a Google Analytics Account and Get Your Measurement ID

Follow the steps below to create a Google Analytics account for your website and find your Measurement ID.

Step 1 — Open Google Analytics

1. Go to Google Analytics.

2. Click Start measuring.

3. Log in with your Google account.

Step 2 — Create Your Google Analytics Account

1. In the Account name field, enter your business name.

2. Click Next.

Step 3 — Create a Property

1. In the Property name field, enter your business name.

2. Select your time zone.

3. Select your currency.

4. Click Next.

Step 4 — Enter Business Information

1. Select your business category.

2. Select your business size.

3. Click Next.

Step 5 — Choose Business Objectives

Select:

• Get baseline reports

You may also select:

• Generate leads

• Examine user behavior

Then click Create and accept Google’s terms.

Step 6 — Create a Data Stream

1. Choose Web as the platform.

Step 7 — Add Website Information

1. Enter your website URL.

2. Under Stream name, enter a name such as:

   Main Website

3. Click Create stream.

Step 8 — Copy Your Google Analytics Measurement ID

After the stream is created, you will see your Measurement ID.

It will look similar to this:

G-XXXXXXXXXX

Copy this ID and provide it to the Markate Website Services team so it can be connected to your website.
