Online Booking Setup 


1. What is the Online Booking feature?

Online Booking allows you to list your services with prices on a booking form embedded on your website. Customers can choose services, time slots, and submit inquiries or confirmed bookings—helping you collect leads and manage appointments seamlessly.



2. How do I enable Online Booking in Markate?

  1. Log in to your Markate account.

  2. Go to More > Add-Ons.

  3. Toggle Online Booking ON.



3. How do I add services and categories?

  • Click Edit Booking Plugin on the dashboard.

  • Under My Services/Items tab, click Add Category 

  • Under a category, click Add Service/Item

  • Enter service name, description, price, and upload an image

  • Click Save



4. Can I hide services temporarily?

Yes, toggle Visible ON/OFF to show or hide services on My Services/Items tab.



5. How do I set time slots for appointments?

Under the Time Slots tab:

  • Enter Start/End time and mark available days.

  • Choose Soonest Availability.

  • Click Save



6. Can I customize the booking form fields?

Yes. On the Booking Form tab:

  • Default required: Name, Phone, and Customer Type

  • Make other fields Visible or Required as needed

  • Add new fields using Add Form Field

  • Customize button text color under Appearance



7. How do I offer coupons or discounts?

  • Go to the Coupons tab and click Add Coupon

  • Fill in coupon name, code, discount, validity, usage limit, and status

  • Click Save



8. Can customers find me on Google to book?

Yes, via Reserve with Google:

  • Go to Reserve with Google tab

  • Click Update Details and match your Markate business info (Name, Phone, Address)

  • Click Save

  • Status will show Enabled & Configured



9. What settings can I configure in the Settings tab?

a) Appearance

  • Page Title

  • Instructions

  • Redirect URL after booking

  • Product listing view: Grid or List

b) Financial

  • Minimum booking price

  • Default tax

  • Deposit options (No deposit / Percentage / Fixed amount)

c) Booking & Schedule

  • Appointments per slot

  • Notification preferences (email/app)

  • Avoid double booking (blocked times/calendar conflicts)

  • Enable schedule & auto-assign work orders

  • Terms and Conditions checkbox

d) Google Analytics

  • Add your Google Analytics V4 Tracking ID

e) Website URL & Widget Status

  • Link your company website

  • Set widget as Active or Inactive



10. How do I add the booking form to my website?

Go to Website Integration tab:

  • Copy JavaScript/iFrame code to embed in your website

  • Or copy the Booking Page URL to share via text, email, or social media

  • Click View Booking Page to preview how it appears to customers

11. How does the customer book a service?

  • Click the "View Booking Form" link

  • Select services, set quantity, and click Add to Cart

  • Choose Continue Shopping or Book Now



12. Can customers select a time slot?

Yes, if enabled by you (the Pro), customers will see available time slots and can select their preferred one.



13. Can customers use a coupon?

Yes. If any valid coupon codes are active, customers can apply them at checkout



14. What contact info does the customer enter?

Customers will fill out fields like Name, Phone, and any others you’ve marked as required.



15. How do customers pay a deposit?

If a deposit is required:

  • After clicking Book Now, an invoice appears

  • Click Pay Deposit, enter payment details, and proceed.

  • To take a deposit payment, online payments need to be enabled in your account. When the customer selects "Pay Deposit", they’ll be redirected to the online payment processor you’ve set up, such as Stripe or Square.




16. Can customers add a tip?

Yes. After paying the deposit, they can optionally add a tip (custom or percentage).



17. How is the booking confirmed?

Once the deposit is paid, the booking is confirmed. It will appear either in your:

  • Calendar

  • Open Leads, or

  • Unscheduled section — depending on your settings


Accepting Bookings Through Facebook 


18. Can I accept bookings through my Facebook page?

Yes! You can add a Call-to-Action button on your Facebook business page linked to your Markate booking form.



19. How do I set it up?

  1. Log in to your Markate account

    • Go to More > Add-Ons > Online Booking > Website Integration

    • Copy your Booking Page URL

  2. Log in to your Facebook Business Manager

    • Go to Settings > Pages

    • Select the Page you want to link

    • Click the URL below your page name

  3. On your Page’s cover photo, click Create Call to Action

    • Choose a CTA like “Book Now”

    • Paste your Markate Booking URL

    • Click Create
