General


1. What is the Proposal Kit Add-on?
The Proposal Kit is an Add-on feature in Markate that allows you to create professional, branded proposals to send along with your estimates. It helps showcase your company information, services, photos, testimonials, and more before the customer views and accepts the estimate.



2. Why should I use Proposal Kit?
The Proposal Kit helps you win more business by:

  • Presenting a professional, branded proposal.

  • Building trust with customers before they view your pricing.

  • Allowing you to add photos, videos, testimonials, and service agreements.



3. How many Proposal Kits are included in setup?
The Proposal Kit Add-on is available for $10.00/month. It is a subscription-based feature and not limited to just one kit. 



4. Who maintains the Proposal Kit after setup?
After the one-time setup, all edits and maintenance are the responsibility of the business owner.



Enabling & Accessing


5. How do I enable the Proposal Kit Add-on?

  1. Login to your Markate account.

  2. Hover over More > Add-ons.

  3. Toggle Proposal Kit ON.

  4. Click Enable on the pop-up.



6. Where can I find Proposal Kit after enabling?
You can access it by:

  • Clicking Manage after enabling, OR

  • From the left panel under Add-ons > Proposal Kit.



Creating Templates


7. How do I create a new Proposal Template?

  1. Go to Proposal Kit.

  2. Click + Create Template.

  3. Enter a Template Name.

  4. Select a pre-built layout.

  5. Click Continue.



8. Can I duplicate a Proposal Template?
Yes, on the Proposal Kits list page, click Manage > Clone.


9. Can I change the sequence of sections in my proposal?
Yes, use the left panel:

  • Drag & drop to reorder.

  • Click the pencil icon to rename a section.

  • Click the eye icon to hide/unhide a section.



Customization


10. What parts of the Proposal Kit can I customize?
You can customize:

  • Logo & Background images

  • Intro text & images

  • Why Us section

  • Our Services section

  • Credentials & Licenses

  • Photos (Before/After, Gallery)

  • Videos (YouTube/Vimeo/MP4)

  • Testimonials

  • Pricing description

  • Service Agreement terms



11. Will my company logo appear automatically?
Yes, by default the logo is pulled from your Business Profile. You can replace it by double-clicking the logo section and uploading a new one.



12. Can I add Before & After photos?
Yes, simply double-click the photo area to upload new images.



13. Can I add videos to my Proposal Kit?
Yes, you can:

  • Replace existing videos by entering the YouTube/Vimeo Video ID.

  • Add new videos by dragging the video element into the template and pasting the embed code.



14. What kind of images should I use?
Use high-quality images (1200×800 pixels) for the best results.



Using Proposal Kit with Estimates


15. How do I send a Proposal Kit with an estimate?

  1. Go to Estimates > Add New Estimate.

  2. Fill in estimate details.

  3. Scroll to Proposal Kit Template section.

  4. Select the Proposal Template from the dropdown.

  5. Click Submit.



16. How will the customer see my Proposal Kit?
Customers will see your proposal attached to the estimate. They can view company info, testimonials, photos, and terms before accepting the estimate.



17. How do I preview the Proposal Kit as a customer?
On Estimate Preview screen, Click Customer View under Proposal Kit to see exactly what your customer will see.



Editing & Maintenance


18. Can I edit a Proposal Kit after sending an estimate?
Yes. Go to:

  1. Proposal Kit > Proposals.

  2. Select the submitted estimate → Click Manage > Edit.

  3. Save changes and view updated version via Estimate ID > Customer View.



19. What happens if I delete the “Main Page” or “View Proposal” button?
Do not delete or hide them. Customers will not be able to access your proposal. If deleted, click the Reset button immediately to restore.



20. Can I reset a page if I make a mistake?
Yes, simply click the Reset icon on that page.



Setup Requirements (For One-Time Setup Service)


21. What information do I need to provide before setup?

With our optional White Glove Services (available for an additional charge), our team will set up one Proposal Kit for your service industry. This includes adding your photos, descriptions, and services so you’re ready to start right away.

Key Details:

  • Includes setup of one Proposal Kit. Additional kits can be created for an extra charge.

  • Does not include radically changing the kit format.

  • This is a one-time setup. After completion, all future edits and maintenance are the responsibility of the business owner.

Information Required (provide at least 24 hours before your scheduled setup call):

  • Template Type

  • Color Scheme (example required)

  • Main Page: Logo, Cover Image

  • Introduction: Cover Image, Company Intro Paragraph

  • Why Us: Cover Image, Paragraph

  • Our Services: Cover Image, Description

  • Credentials: Cover Image, License/Accreditation Images

  • Photos: Before/After or Gallery Images + Descriptions

  • Videos: Cover Image, YouTube link or MP4 file

  • Testimonials: Cover Image, Customer Quotes with Name

  • Pricing: Cover Image, Any Descriptive Text

  • Service Agreement: Cover Image, Terms & Conditions



22. What if I don’t provide the information on time?
Without complete information, the Proposal Kit setup may be delayed or incomplete.



Troubleshooting


23. Why don’t my placeholders show customer details?
Placeholders auto-fetch values when the estimate is submitted. Ensure your estimate has correct customer details.



24. Why does my image look blurry?
Most likely the image resolution is too low. Always use 1200×800 px or higher.



25. Can I adjust advanced settings in the Proposal Kit editor?
It’s not recommended unless you have prior experience. Incorrect adjustments may affect formatting.
