Take full control of your business communications by bringing your existing Virtual Number from Markate into your own Twilio account. This enables you to send and receive calls, SMS chats, and even click-to-call directly from your browser.
Important Note before you begin with the setup:
You can only enable one virtual number method at a time:
Markate Virtual Number, or
Your Own (BYVN)
Not both simultaneously.
A Twilio account and purchased Twilio Virtual Number are required.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Create Your Twilio Account
Go to https://www.twilio.com and create an account.
Purchase a Twilio phone number capable of voice and SMS.
Step 2: Transfer Existing Number from Markate to Twilio
If you're using a Markate-provided Virtual Number and wish to take ownership of that number within your Twilio account, follow these steps:
Contact Twilio Support
- Open a request with Twilio:
Move Twilio Numbers to Another Account → - Let them know:
- You want to release your current Virtual Number from Markate.com.
- Provide all required account details.
Contact Markate Support
- Once Twilio confirms transfer initiation, email:
support@markate.com - Request the Losing Account SID (e.g., PN66de89e822935064e7ae5a**********) needed by Twilio to complete the transfer.
Step 3: Enable BYVN Add-On in Markate
Once your number is active in your Twilio account:
- Login to your Markate account
- Go to More > Add-ons
- Scroll to "Bring Your Own VN", toggle it ON
- Click Manage, then Purchase Add-on if prompted
Step 4: Connect Twilio with Markate
- Log in to your Twilio Dashboard
- Navigate to the Develop tab
- Under Account Info, copy your:
- Account SID
- Auth Token (click Show to reveal)
- Under Account Info, copy your:
- Back in Markate BYVN setup:
- Paste these values into the respective fields
- Click Connect
- Choose your Twilio Number from the dropdown and click Save
