How to create a Work Order and assign it to employees

Create, Schedule and Assign Work Order


Login to your Markate account.


  • Hover over Sales > Click Work Orders



  • You will be redirected to the Work Orders page
  • Next, click '+ New Work Order'



  • It will navigate to the 'New Work Order' page
  • On this page, Work Order ID is automatically populated.
  • Next, select Customer from the dropdown or you can add New Customer by clicking '+New Customer'
  • Select Job Location from the customer's existing addresses or add a new location by clicking '+New Location Address'
  • Then, scroll to Work Order Items and add Items with their Type (Service/Material/Product). 
  • Also add other details like Quanity of items, Discount, Tax, Adjustment, Deposit collected.



  • Next, select a Checklist. (You can add a checklist from left panel on the screen by clicking the Checklist tab)


Here is how to Assign a Work Order to the Employee(s):


  • Go to 'Assign To' section where you can assign the Work Order to your Employee(s).
  • All the Employees' names you have already added in your Employee list are displayed over here including the Owner's name.
  • You just need to Mark the Employee name checkbox to assign it to them.
  • Assigning the Work Order to multiple Employees are possible by marking multiple checkboxes
  • To unassign, simply unmark the checkbox of the Employee Name.

NOTE: If you do not assign the Work Order to any of the Employees, it is automatically assigned to the Owner only.


Here is how to Schedule a Work Order:


  • Now, go to Schedule Work Order section and enter Start and End Date /Time of the Work Order.
  • You can also set Customer Reminder Notification. Suppose it is set as 5 minutes before, your customer will get notified about the scheduled Work Order 5 minutes before the Start Time.
  • If you Set Event Color as say Green, your Calendar will show this particular event in Green color.



  • Enter or modify all the other required details as shown in the image below:



  • You can also Attach relevant files for the Work Order by clicking Upload File.
  • Once done with all the information for Work Order, Click Save.



  • It will redirect you to the Work Order view page, where you can see all the Work Order details Specifically it's Schedule and the Employees assigned to it.


  • To Edit Work Order and re-assign, simply click Schedule & Assign.
