How to include Payment processing fees

Login to Markate.com

Step 1: Hover over Sales > Click 'Invoices' 

Step 2: Click 'Settings'

Step 3: On 'Invoice Settings' page, scroll to 'Credit Card Payment Fee' section. 

Step 4: From the 'Type' dropdown, select payment type either, Percent%, Fixed $ or Percent % + Fixed $

Note: When you select 'Percent % + Fixed $', you need to enter both fee types: Percent and Fixed.

Credit Card vs. Debit Card Processing Fees

When setting up online payment processing fees (integrated with Square and Stripe), please note how fees apply to different card types:

• Credit Cards: Processing fees can be applied to online credit card payments. You can configure these fees as a percentage, a fixed amount, or a combination of both (e.g., Percent % + Fixed $). 
• Debit Cards: Processing fees cannot be applied to debit card transactions. By default, debit card payments have no processing fee applied. 
• Important Note on Compliance: Some states restrict or regulate credit card surcharges. Always check your local rules and regulations before enabling payment surcharges for your customers.

Step 5: Save Changes.

Now the Payment Processing fees will be added to the invoice.

NOTE: It is applicable only when your customers pay you online.
